The Bosch Group has completed its acquisition of the IoT middleware specialist ProSyst.

Broad product portfolio for the Internet of Things

The Bosch Group has completed its acquisition of middleware specialist ProSyst. The agreement was signed in February of this year, and antitrust authorities have now approved the transaction. Both parties agreed to not disclose the acquisition price.

Rainer Kallenbach named to ProSyst management team

Although the transaction is complete, ProSyst will remain a legally independent entity for the time being. The plan is to merge it soon with Bosch Software Innovations GmbH, the software and systems unit of the Bosch Group. After acquiring ProSyst, Bosch Software Innovations will have some 660 employees at its locations in Berlin, Cologne, Immenstaad, Waiblingen, Chicago, Singapore, Shanghai, and Sofia.

In addition, ProSyst’s executive team has grown from three to four: Thomas Hott (CEO), Dr. Dimitar Valtchev (CTO), and Daniel Schellhoss (founder and Executive VP Sales & Marketing) are now joined by Dr. Rainer Kallenbach, CEO of Bosch Software Innovations. The team will provide support as ProSyst is integrated into the Bosch Group.

Together, the two companies will develop software products and sector-specific solutions, and market these products worldwide for use in company and internet business models. ProSyst software provides the perfect complement to the device management component in the Bosch IoT Suite developed by Bosch Software Innovations, especially because it supports a wide variety of device protocols.

"Adding this new expertise will enable us to jointly serve all areas of the connected world: industry, mobility, energy management, cities, and companies. "
