Acquisition of inubit AG completed
Products complement each other perfectly
The Bosch Group has completed its acquisition of the software specialist inubit AG, based in Berlin. The agreement for the acquisition of all inubit stock was signed last July; antitrust authorities have since approved the transaction. It has been agreed that the purchase price will not be disclosed.
Development of services for a worldwide customer base
Inubit AG will initially remain a legally independent entity after the transaction has been completed. A merger with Bosch Software Innovations GmbH is planned for the medium term. The inubit acquisition puts the number of associates employed by the software and systems house of the Bosch Group at 450 at its locations in Waiblingen, Immenstaad am Bodensee, Berlin, Chicago, and Singapore.
The completion of the transaction will add three members to the inubit AG executive board: in addition to Dr. Torsten Schmale (CEO) and Michael Hahn (COO), Erica Fölsche will accompany the integration into the Bosch Group as CFO. Dr. Heinz Derenbach, Chairman of the Board of Bosch Software Innovations GmbH, will become Chairman of the inubit Board of Directors. Together, the two companies will develop software products and industry-specific solutions for global applications in corporate and internet-based business models. Apart from these product solutions and cloud services, they will work with customers to implement projects and services that are specifically tailored to customers’ needs and requirements.
Bosch Software Innovations will soon begin offering combined products for Business Process Management (BPM), Business Rules Management (BRM), Business Data Management, and Infrastructure Management. These products form the basis for applications in the Internet of Things and for the development of business models based on those applications.
Comprehensive and attractive product portfolio
“With inubit’s additional process and technology expertise, we will further develop Bosch activities regarding the Internet of Things,” Derenbach said. “Together, we can use this expertise to meet the needs of everybody in the connected world: companies, mobility, energy management, cities, life, and industry,” he continued. Dr. Schmale added, “Our companies, technology, and cultures complement one another perfectly.” This means that an even more comprehensive and attractive product portfolio can be offered to customers. “In keeping with the motto of ‘integrate & innovate – creating the future together,’ we can now consistently build on existing business segments and, at the same time, tap new and promising markets,” Schmale said.
