Bosch acquired middleware specialist ProSyst
The acquisition represented a further step to systematically expand Bosch’s IoT software competence. In 2016, ProSyst Software GmbH and ProSyst Labs EOOD were fully merged with Bosch Software Innovations. Today, Bosch Software Innovations employs more than 130 associates in Sofia. Many of them have been working in IoT-related areas for almost 20 years. Since January 2020, Bosch Software Innovations has become Bosch.IO.
Bulgaria has been the Silicon Valley of eastern Europe. Its universities were teaching Java well before many others — the programming language that is so important for the Internet of Things. It’s no coincidence that in 2015, the Bosch Group acquired ProSyst Software GmbH including its Bulgarian subsidiary ProSyst Labs EOOD, a leading international supplier of gateway software and middleware for the Internet of Things. Its software facilitates interaction between connected devices and appliances in the smart home, connected industry, and mobility segments.
Bosch.IO in Sofia is located in the modern Polygraphia Office Center. The office hosts a documentation and technical training team, customer support specialists and a software test center.
